Following an IRS career leading civil and criminal investigations, proprietor Arthur (Art) Brunwasser continues to bring his expertise to private, corporate and government entities.
Starting in 1991 as a Revenue Officer, Art conducted financial analysis on over 2,000 collections matters where he put taxpayers into installment plans, processed offers in compromise, collections appeals, and made penalty abatements. Art spent a year as a multifunctional group manager in the Taxpayer Advocates Program addressing individual and Congressional complaints and concerns.
In 2000 Art transferred to the Criminal Investigation Division as a Special Agent, becoming a Supervisory Special Agent in 2014. Art investigated and led agents in investigations of Federal Tax, Money Laundering, and Structuring crimes in New York City, through the Hudson Valley, and up to Albany. Through his casework, Art gained extensive knowledge of payroll crimes, embezzlement, concealed assets, and shell companies.
Following Retirement from the IRS, Art worked for Guidehouse reviewing government loans with an eye for fraud. Art is a veteran having retired from the Army Reserve as a Major. He is a licensed Private Investigator, an Enrolled Agent, a Certified Fraud Examiner, and a Notary Public.
